Janine Baldwin PS will be the ‘Artist in Focus’ at Blue Tree Gallery, York, 1st – 31st October.

Janine will also be teaching a 3 day drawing and collage course next summer at Lund Studios, Easingwold, North Yorkshire – ‘Layered Landscapes – Expressive Drawing & Mixed Media Collage’ will run 29 June-1 July, 10-4pm, with lunches & refreshments included. “Throughout the course I’ll be sharing effective techniques which I employ in my own mixed media work. Starting with plein air sketching we’ll look at how to use expressive, intuitive mark-making & drawing to capture the energy of the Yorkshire landscape! We’ll then start to play with acrylic & collage, looking at textures, cut & torn edges & interpreting the landscape as a series of interlocking pieces. Participants can also incorporate other materials such as old drawings, giving them new life! The course encourages exploration in a relaxed, playful framework with as much guidance as each individual needs, working at their own speed & according to their own interests.”
Lund Studios is housed in a converted dairy, a large open space flooded with daylight. The surrounding grounds are 15 acres of our own fields, meadows & woodland. Plenty of opportunity to find some space to think, to gain inspiration.
